Review
4.5 out of 5 stars

I definitely fell for the Matthew's family in Adrienne Frances first book of the series Under the Orange Moon.  I loved their bonds with one another, their love, their sense of the importance of family, so needless to say I was excited to get my hands on the next installment.  To be perfectly honest I was completely unprepared for what was coming my way when I began this book journey.  In Beyond the Orange Moon Adrienne Frances holds nothing back as she took me on an unforgettable emotional journey into the life of Charlie Matthews.

Beyond the Orange Moon is kicked off with an intense prologue, one which is going to rip your heart out all together, one that left me with tears running down my face.  She pulls the rug completely out from under Charlie, leaving him at what seems to possibly be his rock bottom.  In addition, she also manages to change our heroine, Lucy's, course of life as well.  One monumental night takes them both on very different paths and while I knew those paths would eventually lead them back to one another I wasn't sure how Adrienne was going to get us there.  Would the pieces to the puzzle come together perfectly?

I shouldn't have ever doubted Adrienne's ability to tell a full and very complete story!  She takes our characters, who are both at very low points, simply going through the motions of life and breathes new life into them.  She teaches Charlie and Lucy how to live their lives in the present, how to make the best of unfortunate circumstances, how to honor their past while still moving forward.  I laughed, I cried, I swooned and I smiled.  This was such a fantastic read, one I without a doubt enjoyed.  I absolutely love this fictional family and cannot wait to read more of their stories!  I think it should also be noted that while this is book 2 of the series, it can be read as a stand-alone and Adrienne gives us a perfect ending, tying up all unanswered questions and giving us a peak into the future, which by the way I thought was pure perfection!
