Review: 5 of 5 Stars

I read Forget back in July and I have been unable to do what the title suggests, the book is unforgettable.  I loved the characters and I loved the writing.  I was hooked from page one of that book and experienced so many emotions while reading.  To say my heart was broken at the end is an understatement.  And then I had to wait 5 LONG months to get a conclusion.  It was pure torture and I am pretty sure that Nat stayed off social media to avoid stalkers fans like me.  Once Blur arrived on my Kindle, I wanted to start reading immediately.  However, I was a little scared and anxious.  What if my heart couldn't take it?!?!

Blur begins exactly where we are left hanging in Forget.  Super hot Dylan and his band the Careless Cockups are in L.A. to begin their debut album.  Brooke and Dylan are both in for a shock when they realize they will be working together.  But the biggest shock for Dylan, Brooke is engaged to Jamie.  I could feel Dylan's heart shatter and his blinding rage.  And I really, really wanted to be pissed at Brooke.  But, I couldn't bring myself to hate her.  She has so many demons and secrets that I knew there was a good reason for her actions, even if I wanted to slap some sense into her.

After the initial shock of working together is over, they give a good effort and hating each other, trying to be friends and just pissing the other off.  But is so pointless.  Bright Eyes and Little Wing have so much chemistry, I am surprised my Kindle didn't spontaneously combust.  They can fight their feelings all they want, but these two are a match made in literary heaven.

Even though I figured out the secret that Brooke has been keeping from everyone, I loved the journey to get there, though my heart was ripped to shreds multiple times.  Anyone reading it can see Brooke's agony and that she does not want to hurt anyone.  She only wants to protect those that she loves and ends up hurting herself in the process.  Thank God for Millie and her words of wisdom.  Her humor and letters of advice were priceless.  This story is a poignant, beautiful, redemptive story.  It fully displays how words, actions and love can affect a person.  Prepare yourself for a wonderful, emotional roller coaster and enjoy the ride this book will provide. Excellent job, Ms. Alcorn.  I can't wait to read more novels of yours in the future!

Holiday Gift Guide: Paranormal Lover-Harry Potter Edition

Harry Potter is a phenomenon that is difficult to describe.  I was skeptical before I read these books.  In fact, I didn't read them until they were all released and I bought the first three paperbacks at my local library book sale.  They were fifty cent each.  From the first chapter of Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone I have been hooked.  I read the complete series in 10 days.  Needless to say, I accomplished nothing else during that time and have been a "Potterhead" since.  I love to read all the theories and the new clues that tie things together even more.  J.K. Rowling created a world everyone should read.  If you or a friend/family member are as obsessed with Harry Potter as I am, you will love these unique gifts that all fans would love!

1-"Always" Doe Patronus Painting- This gorgeous watercolor painting would look great in any house.  It just so happens that deer paintings, wall hangings, etc. are all the rage right now, and you get to pay homage to HP at the same time.  "After all this time? Always." That quote still gets me.

2-Muggle Hoodie- This hoodie says it all. Books have the power to help us escape reality and use our imagination.  I would totally wear this hoodie proudly.  Every Potterhead I know would love it also.

3-House Elves Sign- Every Harry Potter fan that is a mother needs this sign in their house. I love how it brings the love of books and sarcasm together.

4-Harry Potter Bracelet- This bracelet is understated and fashionable.  But, it proudly displays so many HP symbols that I love: the Golden Snitch, the Deathly Hallows, and Hedwig.

5-Platform 9 3/4 Decal-This decal would look perfect on a door in a classroom or any door that needs some magic.  I love the look and it would fit perfect in any HP themed room.

6-Marauders Map Mug- "I solemnly swear that I am up to no good." Coffee is what gets me through most days. And I love a fun coffee mug.  For some reason, it makes the coffee taste better.  This Marauders Map mug is awesome.  It is black until you add hot liquids and the map appears.

7-Key Rack- Could there be a better place to store your keys than on a key rack that displays Alohomora the "Unlocking Charm"?  I think not.  All your muggle friends will be confused as to the meaning, but that is sort of the point.

Holiday Gift Guide: Loves to Cook-Literary Edition

In addition to reading we also love cooking and perhaps even more than cooking we LOVE to bake!  So what better of an idea to give someone who both loves to read and cook than a cookbook themed gift?  But looking for the perfect cookbook can definitely be overwhelming with so many choices on the market so, we've listed a few of our absolute favorites, ones that we know without a doubt will result is successful, delicious dishes!

1- Paula Deen's Just Desserts - Controversy aside this woman knows how to cook and her recipes are prove it time and time again.  Every single one of her recipes I've tried have been a success earning multiple compliments.  You might also consider The Lady & Sons Savannah Country Cookbook Collection - these two books are full of all kinds of dishes, not just desserts.

2 - Pioneer Woman Cooks Dinnertime - The first time I ever learned of Ree Drummond was while on the tradmill at the gym.  As I was walking I was watching her make homemade glazed doughnuts.  She was funny, down to earth and those doughnuts not only looked easy to make but melt in your mouth good.  Soon thereafter I bought my first Pioneer Woman Cookbook and my fan status was sealed.  Her cookbooks are beautifully filled with pictures outlining each step and she writes just like if you were having a conversation together.  Every single time I make one of her dishes I am flooded with praise.  Pioneer Woman Cooks Dinnertime is the newest book in her collection, having just released this past October -- This is one I put on the top of my Christmas Wish List!

3 - Southern Living Ultimate Quick and Easy Cookbook -  I bought this one years ago from a Souther Living at Home party and it's one of my favorite ones.  Filled with tons of pictures and recipes for meats to side dishes to desserts and drinks.  In case you didn't know or couldn't tell we're southern girls and we love good food and the pages of this particular book will have your mouths watering!  If you get it check out the Chicken Parmesan - it's a favorite of my family!

4 - Cake Mix Doctor - Do you like to bake or does it scare you?!?!  I love it and this is one of my go-to cookbooks.  Each recipe starts out with a boxed cake mix you "doctor" up and I'm telling you they are moist, delicious and most importantly easy to make!  Also check out Chocolate by the Cake Mix Doctor and Cupcakes by the Cake Mix Doctor.  I have all 3 cookbooks and they are fantastic.  The first couple of the pages are filled with color pictures of the recipe options, so you can see what looks good visually and flip to the recipe!

5 -  Cookbook and Tablet Stand - Something every kitchen needs!  This stand will not only hold your tired and true cookbooks, but for those of you following a recipe on Pinterest you can prop your tablet up in this stand as well!

6 - Team Peeta Apron - We can't have a cooking gift guide without mentioning our favorite fictional baker, Peeta Mellark! So grab your Hunger Games friends an apron! Who wouldn't want to bake bread with him?

7- Antique Book Trivets - As you are cooking all the dishes from these awesome cookbooks, you will need somewhere to place your hot dishes!  We love these trivets that pay homage to some of the best antique books.  If you don't use trivets, you can always use them as wall hangings as well.

8 - Nuts by Alice Clayton - We are HUGE Alice Clayton fans and we loved her most recent release about Roxie Callahan - a private chef to some of Hollywood’s wealthiest, and nastiest, calorie-counting wives. After a dairy disaster implodes her carefully crafted career in one fell ploop, she finds herself back home in upstate New York, bailing out her hippie mother and running the family diner.

When gorgeous local farmer Leo Maxwell delivers her a lovely bunch of organic walnuts, Roxie wonders if a summer back home isn’t such a bad idea after all. Leo is heavily involved in the sustainable slow food movement, and he likes to take his time. In all things. Roxie is determined to head back to the west coast as soon as summer ends, but will the pull of lazy fireflies and her very own Almanzo Wilder be enough to keep her home for good?

Review: Until Friday Night, by Abbi Glines

Synopsis
To everyone who knows him, West Ashby has always been that guy: the cocky, popular, way-too-handsome-for-his-own-good football god who led Lawton High to the state championships. But while West may be Big Man on Campus on the outside, on the inside he’s battling the grief that comes with watching his father slowly die of cancer.

Two years ago, Maggie Carleton’s life fell apart when her father murdered her mother. And after she told the police what happened, she stopped speaking and hasn’t spoken since. Even the move to Lawton, Alabama, couldn’t draw Maggie back out. So she stayed quiet, keeping her sorrow and her fractured heart hidden away.

As West’s pain becomes too much to handle, he knows he needs to talk to someone about his father—so in the dark shadows of a post-game party, he opens up to the one girl who he knows won’t tell anyone else.

West expected that talking about his dad would bring some relief, or at least a flood of emotions he couldn’t control. But he never expected the quiet new girl to reply, to reveal a pain even deeper than his own—or for them to form a connection so strong that he couldn’t ever let her go…

4.5 out of 5 stars

Confession...from my very first Abbi Glines experience I've kind of been a sucker for her books.  I buy them and read them just as soon as I can.  Of course over the years there are some stories and some characters I love more than others.  Maggie and West happen to fall into the category of ones that I love.

Unit Friday Night is written with such heart and soul.  I found myself emotionally attached to both Maggie and West.  I worried for them, I cried for them, I smiled with them and loved every second spent watching those two fall in love.

This is a YA book and therefore it isn't as necessarily as "steamy" as some of Abbi's other stories, but that's not to say this book wasn't full of chemistry.  It just means there is so much "more" to this journey.  There were plenty of moments that will melt your insides and get your blood rushing but those moments aren't all tied to the physical.  The emotional bond between Maggie and West felt real and I commend Abbi Glines for exploring the worry and doubt of two people bonding over life changing circumstances.  For pushing those boundaries and exploring whether or not a real love could even be tangible.

Maggie's strength was astounding.  Her ability to see beyond someone's facade, to sense beyond the surface and know what a person needs is simply stunning.  Her life wasn't cookie cutter perfect and she has no reason to want to help anyone else, but she does and in it finds a desire to perhaps live more of a life than she's previously had the strength to do.  While West's journey through grief is a predominant theme of this story it doesn't overshadow his secondary journey of falling in love, of recognizing what love really is, how to not only appreciate it's gift but to also cherish it.  Abbi Glines did a really great job bringing all these themes and characters to life.  Without a doubt she captured the essence of everything a YA novel should be filled with.

As the story was wrapping up though I will have to confess I felt as though there were a few loose ends I would like to have seen more tied up.  I know there will be other books in this series, which I will without a doubt be reading, but I have no idea if we will get another West and Maggie book, or if one is even needed.  But I can say I would love to see more of these two.  Speaking of additional books in this series, I have to commend Abbi on giving the secondary characters of this story such dimension.  They weren't just names, she gave those names a personality, she made me want to dig a little deeper into some of them.  Take a chance on Until Friday Night, it's a really great read in what I predict to be another bestselling Abbi Glines series!

Holiday Gift Guide: Paranormal Lover-Twilight Edition

Twilight will always hold a special place in my heart.  It's one of those spur of the moment purchases I made one day at a Sam's Club.  I saw the book's cover, was intrigued and thought why not.  Looking back I am not ashamed to admit I felt ridiculous buying a book about vampires.  Little did I know how much I would love the story, and yes I read it and was a fan long before the movies were ever even thought about.  It's an awesome saga, one that will take you by surprise and captivate your attention to the end.

1 - Twilight Tenth Anniversary/Life and Death Dual Edition - This anniversary edition just recently released, back in early October.  It pairs the classic love story with Stephenie Meyer's bold and surprising reimagining of the complete novel with the characters' genders reversed. In Life and Death, readers will be thrilled to experience this iconic tale told through the eyes of a human teenage boy in love with a female vampire.  Here at Romance Rewind we do not know how we feel about reversing the roles of Bella and Edward but we are HUGE fans and are dying for a copy of this hardback for our own bookshelves!

2 - MacBook Twilight Decal - This is a die-cut decal, and not a full rectangle cover, which I personally think makes it all the more attractive.  It's just a subtle touch of Twilight and I really LOVE the way it looks against the silver background!

3 - Twilight Forever:  The Complete Saga Box Set - Ok, so I own all the individual movie DVD's of the Twilight Saga, but I secretly, desperately want this complete box set!  Not only do you get all the movies in one cool case, but you also get 2 hours of never before seen content, red carpet footage, music featurettes (and these movies have seriously good soundtracks) and interviews with the cast as well as Stephanie Meyer.

4 - Twilight-Bella's Jewelry Collection - What girl doesn't love jewelry?  Can you imagine if the girl you were buying for also had a serious love for all things Twilight?  Looks to me if that's the case then this is the perfect gift for you!

5 -  The Twilight Saga White Collection - This gift set includes paperback editions of TwilightNew MoonEclipseBreaking Dawn, and The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner with exclusive white covers, making it the perfect gift for fans of the bestselling series.  Don't get me wrong I love the original covers, but there is just something so beautiful about seeing them done in all white!

Review
5 out of 5 stars

I'm a fan of Lisa Renee Jones, and it seems with each book of hers that I read the bigger of a fan I become.  I LOVED this Inside-Out Series and therefore I knew of Ella through her friend Sara.  Like Sara ,throughout the series I too wondered how she could disappear so mysteriously.  So needless to say when the ARC of this book arrived on my doorstep I put everything else on hold and dove right in.  I guess it's safe to say I love a good mystery!

When we meet Ella she is just waking up to find herself in a foreign hospital, with no memory and in the company of a handsome, dream worthy man; so dreamy in fact she isn't sure whether or not he is real.  Kayden, however, is definitely not a figment of her imagination and as it turns out he might be the only person interested in claiming her, in figuring out why she was in the alley unconscious in the first place.  He may be her rescuer but I'm not sure he's the hero of this story and neither is Ella.

There is no doubt Ella is drawn to Kayden.  She senses a connection, like maybe they know one another, however he is adamant the night he rescued her from an apparent mugging was the first time they met.  Ella can sense Kayden's protectiveness of her, she is attracted to him and it appears as he is to her as well.  Ella's gut is telling her to trust him but her mind is cautiously warning to not let herself be made a fool.

Sometimes though the heart wants what the heart wants and before long Ella finds herself on the road to falling in love with Kayden, and honestly who can blame her I was on that same road!  He's strong, protective, possessive, mysterious and he seems to genuinely want to help Ella.  He always knows exactly what to say and the perfect way to communicate it.  He's a broody hot mess and there is no way Ella could help but fall for him.  She promises both Kayden and herself that she can handle his profession right along with his demons.  She needs someone to trust and even though her mind is fighting her heart it's a loosing battle because she needs someone to trust and she knows it's him she's already placed her trust in.  So, even though we are left with many unanswered questions and possible doubts of Kayden's motivation for helping Ella I cannot help but root for these two.

What I love most about a Lisa Renee Jones book is that she keeps me on my toes.  No doubt she has mastered the process of taking readers deeper into the mystery she is weaving while simultaneously throwing us clues as to what's really going on.  One minute you might find yourself a step closer to figuring out the answer or at least a possible theory only to be thrown a curve ball in the next chapter which pushes you two steps behind.  Its frustratingly brilliant and the end result is this stunning book you literally cannot put down!  Denial was nothing short of an amazing, intense 5 star read that commanded my attention from page 1 and quite honestly the book may be over but my mind is still reeling from the ending.  I am desperate for the next installment.

Blog Tour and Review: Vegas Love, by Jillian Dodd

Synopsis
Hollywood actress, Ashlyn Roberts, just had the worst week of her life. Her ex released a sex tape of them and just when she was convinced her current boyfriend was a keeper for standing by her side, he breaks up with her at a friend’s wedding. She’s planning to drown her sorrows in booze when she meets a sexy stranger as she’s leaving the wedding and they end up in Vegas, married.

Cash Crawford is offered a dream job working with his brother as a junior talent agent. He’ll put his shiny new law degree to good use and make a bunch of money in the process. His first task is simple: Keep Ashlyn Roberts out of trouble and don’t sleep with her.
Which might be kind of tough, since they definitely consummated their Vegas wedding.

Will this one night stand end in the quickie divorce they promised each other? Or will they realize they got lucky in love?

Excerpt
She pulls me into a limo. “Where are we going?” I ask. Not that I care. At this point, I’d go just about anywhere with this girl. She’s amazing. And I don’t just mean the sex—which was practically mind-blowing. She’s gorgeous and funny as shit.
“Vegas.”
“I’m surprised you’d want to go there after—” She grabs my lips in her fingertips and shuts them, giving me fish lips.
“Rule number one,” she says. “No talking about the past. Other than I’m going to say that the last two times I’ve been in Vegas have been big disappointments. Give me a minute. I need to make a call.”
“Who are you calling?”
“Carter Crawford. He doesn’t know it yet, but we’re going to borrow his plane. I happen to know he’s not leaving here until tomorrow afternoon. Do you know him?”
“The best man?” I ask. I consider telling her that I know Carter quite well, since he’s my brother, but I don’t. She wants a no-names-kind-of night. Which is funny considering everyone knows the actress Ashlyn Roberts, who’s well-known for her blockbuster movie roles, red carpet antics, and bubbly personality.
“After the breakup with Luke and before I started dating Zach, Carter took me to Vegas,” she says, causing me to tense up. Just the thought of her fucking anyone other than me—particularly my brother—threatens to rip me apart. How can I possibly feel so crazy jealous over her already? It was just sex. Wasn’t it? “I thought our trip would be romantic with a whole lot of hot and sweaty, you know, but nothing happened between us. His brother, Cade, is my agent, and he was just trying to cheer me up.”
I breathe easier, then let my lips graze down her neck. “If hot, sweaty, romantic Vegas is what you want, Hotass. It’s what you’ll get.”
“I need a wig though.”
“Why?”
“So no one recognizes me, silly. I have a fake ID. Sometimes, I just want to go out without it being a scene. Tonight is one of those nights.”
“I bet we can find you a wig in Vegas.”
“Ha, you’re right,” she says as I pull her on my lap and kiss her again.
We fuck on the plane.
Twice.
Drink some more.
When we land in Vegas, we go directly to a store where she sends me in to buy a wig.
“What kind?” I ask.
“Long and blond.”
“Hot,” I say.
“While you do that, I’ll get us set up in a hotel.”
When I get back in the town car, she tells the driver which hotel to take us to.
“I’ve never stayed here before,” she says, pulling on the wig. “You go get the key, okay? I told them your name was Harry Tripping and not to ask for ID.”
“That’s funny.”

We ride the elevator to one of the upper floors and enter a sprawling suite. “Very nice. You have good taste.”
“Only the best for our wild one-night stand.”
A butler appears out of nowhere. “Anything you need?”
“Nothing he can’t give me,” she says, pulling on my tie and giving me a naughty grin.
I send the butler away then lead her over to the windows. “Look at this view.”
“Ohmigawd! Look! The Bellagio fountains are starting!” She leans against the glass and looks down. “Wow. This is kinda trippy.”
I push my hips into her ass, somehow ready for round—hell, I lost count. Two times at the wedding, a blow job in the limo, joined the mile high club twice, so round—six. Doesn’t matter though, my Johnson is raring to go. I wrap my arms around her waist, kiss her neck, and finger her while she watches the fountains rise. She reaches back and slides her hand down my pants.
“You’re hard again,” she says, seemingly surprised.
“You turn me on,” I whisper.
“Do me right here. I feel like I should say your name—but this is a still a no-names-kind-of night, right?”
“That’s what you wanted. I’m still calling you Hotass because, you”—I lift her skirt, slide off her panties, and slap her naked butt—“have a very hot ass.”
“Oh!” she says when I spank her. She guides me into her and as I start thrusting, she bends over more—putting her arms out and her hands flat against the glass.
“This is like a fantasy,” she says, moving against me in time with the fountains. “Do you think when they do the big finale you can come?”
“I’d rather make you come.”
“Spank me again, then.”
I pull back, but not out, giving myself just enough space to smack her ass before plunging deep inside her.
“Oh, god! Do it harder! Oh, fuck, yes. Yes. Yes. Yes!”
And just before the fountains stop, she collapses against the window.

4.5 out of 5 stars

Vegas Love is without a doubt a super fun, sexy read.  Imagine what would happen if two young, good looking people with instant chemistry met at a wedding, went to Las Vegas for a fun night and ended up married.  Now imagine if those two were actually made perfectly for one another?  Would they have the courage to uncover their true feelings and fight for love and happiness or would they call it a mistake, move on and do their best never to look back?  This is the question Jillian poses as she takes us on an adventure with two very endearing characters Ashlyn and Cash.

Ashlyn is a young movie star on the rise with a string of bad publicity which she doesn't seem to be able to escape.  It never fails that for every single one of her bad decisions someone is there to catch her in the act, it also doesn't help like most every other girl she just wants to be loved and protected.  Her rise to stardom was quick, and at her core she is a genuine person who always believes the best in those around her.  Unfortunately though this characteristic has left her open and vulnerable to those willing to take advantage of her for a chance at their own fame.

Cash, licking his wounds from a failed relationship with someone whom it took a long time to realize really wasn't his HEA has decide to take his brother Carter, an agent,  up on a job offer and return to his roots in LA.  Little does he realize the woman he married on a whim would be his first assignment, one in which he promised to keep his hand off of.

So what did I love about this book?  For one thing the chemistry between Ashlyn and Cash.  I love how protective of her he is, watching him take care of her and stick up for her melted my heart every single time. When it came to Ashlyn he was completely selfless, and that's how I knew it was love. They seemed to get one another and to be honest they make a great team, together they are the kind of people you love reading about, and no matter what the author throws at them you keep wanting to see how they will react, will it make them stronger or will it tear them apart?  These situations are what made the story good.  They were creative curve balls which forced each character to push beyond their boundaries as individuals and as a couple.  They each need one another more than they initially realized.  Jillian kept me on my toes each and every time a she a new challenge was presented.

Vegas Love was a perfect escape with two characters I really enjoyed getting to know.  If you love Jillian Dodd's other books this one will suck you in perfectly and if you've never read one of her masterpieces before then this is as good of a place as any to start.  Her stories never disappoint, if anything I didn't want to have to tell these two goodbye!

Holiday Gift Guide: New/Expectant Mom: Literary Edition

Making your Christmas list and figuring out the perfect gift for someone can sometimes be an extremely daunting task!  Here are Romance Rewind we LOVE to shop so we decided to turn that love into something that perhaps would be useful to our fans --- Holiday Gift Guides!  This particular Holiday Gift-Guide is geared toward the woman in your life who is pregnant (as an FYI clothes are definitely not a good option because nothing ever fits when you're expecting!) or who just recently welcomed a bundle of joy (again clothes aren't going to immediately fit right so definitely don't go down that road)!  What is a new mom to do when she doesn't have as much time to read as she did pre-baby?  We've compiled what we think is an excellent list with lots of options that are sure to please the new/expectant mom in your life, particularly the one who has a serious passion for reading.

1-  N.A. Alcorn is by far one of the most humorous authors I've ever read so we are recommending The Infamous Series.  It's completely outrageous and hands down comprised of some of the funniest books we have ever read.  Full of jaw-dropping moments both stories are sweet, naughty and executed with greatness.  Oh and did I mention one of the characters is pregnant?  Can you think of a better way to pass the time waiting on a baby to get here?  We also think they would also be the perfect choice of a distraction perhaps during a pumping or breastfeeding session.

2-Majama Nursing Pajamas - Need we say more.  These PJ's are not only cute and stylish but they will be comfortable for not only the hospital but every day she is home as well and just doesn't have the time or energy to put on "real" clothes.

3-Paddywax Jane Austen Soy Wax Candle - Here are our thoughts with this one...candles are relaxing something a new/expectant mom usually could use in her life and why not give her one that comes with not only a quote but also  packaged in a gift box adorned with an author photo and bio.  Fragrance is a blend of gardenia, tuberose and jasmine and it burns for 60 hours!

4- Pride and Prejudice: Babylit and Alice in Wonderland: Babylit - We discovered these adorable books last year when shopping for one of our friends who LOVES to read and had just welcomed a daughter.  "With the timeless popularity of classic writers like Lewis Carroll, Charlotte Bronte, Jane Austen and William Shakespeare BabyLit is a fashionable way to introduce your toddler to the world of classic literature."  And we can tell you these books are even cuter in person than they are on the internet!  In addition to the ones pictured above you can also choose from Moby Dick, The Jungle Book, Wuthering Heights, A Christmas Carol, Sense and Sensibility, Romeo and Juliet and honestly so many more!

5-Bookworm Infant Creeper - This has to be one of the most precious onesies we've ever seen and a mom with a passion for books will LOVE this outfit for her little one.

6-The Birthday Book and Baby Book - Both of these are excellent tools to help keep track of your little one's important milestones.  I wasn't so great with a baby book for either one of my daughters but I have a birthday book for each of them and I think it's the perfect way to keep track of all the cards and memories of their special day throughout the years.

Cover Reveal: Waiting For Wyatt by SD Hendrickson

Pre-Order Links

"The dogs that deserved a chance, the guy who needed a second, and the girl determined to save him."

My name is Emma Sawyer.

I met Charlie and Wyatt on the same sultry, summer day. It was unexpected, leaving a feeling in the pit of my stomach like the time I drove too fast over Beckett Hill. The moment happened out of nowhere, all fast and quick and a little strange. Or maybe that was just Wyatt’s personality.

It was Charlie that brought us together. Little Charlie with those ridiculous ears. I found the dog, waiting in a pool of his own blood. Waiting for someone. Waiting for me.

Now Wyatt, he wasn’t waiting for anyone. At least that’s what he said, except I saw something different in the broken guy all alone out in the woods. I knew he needed me before he knew it himself.

Wyatt with his hidden dimples. Wyatt with his warnings to stay away. He was a hard lump of coal, ready to burn everything around him. The more he burned, the more it pulled me into the pain I saw etched on his troubled face.

I wanted to help Wyatt. I wanted to save him like he had saved all the Charlies in the world. He told me not to fall for him, but I did anyway. I fell hard and fast and deeply in love with Wyatt Caulfield.

But that was before I knew his secret.

Author Note: Waiting for Wyatt is the love story of Wyatt Caulfield and Emma Sawyer, which also features rescue animals. It's a 112,000 word standalone, Contemporary Romance / New Adult Novel.

Review: November 9 by Colleen Hoover

NOVEMBER NINE
BY COLLEEN HOOVER

"November 9 is yet another breathtaking novel by Colleen Hoover that's full of blushing, gushing, and heartache. I loved every page and breathed in every beautiful word."
—Anna Todd, Author of the After series

Fallon meets Ben, an aspiring novelist, the day of her scheduled cross-country move. Their untimely attraction leads them to spend Fallon’s last day in L.A. together, and her eventful life becomes the creative inspiration Ben has always sought for his novel. Over time and amidst the various relationships and tribulations of their own separate lives, they continue to meet on the same date every year. Until one day Fallon becomes unsure if Ben has been telling her the truth or fabricating a perfect reality for the sake of the ultimate plot twist.

Can Ben’s relationship with Fallon—and simultaneously his novel—be considered a love story if it ends in heartbreak?

Review:  5 of 5 Stars

The hardest reviews for us to write are the books that we love.  We feel completely incapable of expressing our love for it on a level that translates our feelings adequately.  And it is even more difficult to know what to say when you don't want to ruin someone else's experience in reading the same book.  For days leading up to the release of the book, we were equally excited and nervous.  Excited because, well, it is Colleen Hoover!  Nervous because we weren't sure  November 9 could live up to our expectations?  Simply put, it exceeded them!

If you haven't read the synopsis of this book, don't read it. I intentionally didn't read it and I was blown away by the concept and the plot line.  I always know that with CoHo, I never know what I am going to get, but it is going to be amazing.

Without going into a lot of detail about the characters, I can guarantee you are going to love Fallon and Ben.  Their chemistry is off the charts.  They are endearing, unique, and both POV's are well written.  Colleen doesn't waste a lot of time boring you with details, which we appreciate.  She gives you just enough details to keep you interested and engaged, but not so many that it is overwhelming.  This book spans many years in 320 pages, but I don't feel like you are missing anything on their journey.

So, what can you expect from this 5-Star Colleen Hoover book?  Great characters, a killer plot, multiple surprises along the way, some tears, and a perfect happily ever after.  November 9, guaranteed to give you a book hangover for days.
