Review: Wallbanger, by Alice Clayton

Synopsis
The first night after Caroline moves into her fantastic new San Francisco apartment, she realizes she's gaining an intimate knowledge of her new neighbor's nocturnal adventures. Thanks to paper-thin walls and the guy's athletic prowess, she can hear not just his bed banging against the wall but the ecstatic response of what seems (as loud night after loud night goes by) like an endless parade of women. And since Caroline is currently on a self-imposed dating hiatus, and her neighbor is clearly lethally attractive to women, she finds her fantasies keep her awake even longer than the noise. So when the wallbanging threatens to literally bounce her out of bed, Caroline, clad in sexual frustration and a pink baby-doll nightie, confronts Simon Parker, her heard-but-never-seen neighbor. The tension between them is as thick as the walls are thin, and the results just as mixed. Suddenly, Caroline is finding she may have discovered a whole new definition of neighborly...

In a delicious mix of silly and steamy, Alice Clayton dishes out a hot and hilarious tale of exasperation at first sight...

Review
4.25 out of 5 stars

Caroline, an up and coming interior designer who loves her job and independence has just sublet her boss' former apartment.  Its absolutely gorgeous and she couldn't be happier now that she's all settled in, or at least of course until she is woken up by her neighbor's sexual escapades.  One night, turns into two and so on and so forth.  Now not only is she sleep deprived thanks to Simon or as she's nicknamed him Wallbanger, but her exhaustion turns into anger especially since her own "O" has been missing as she grows even more frustrated each night.  Finally at her breaking point and unaware of her attire she's decided enough is enough and goes to confront the mysterious Wallbanger.  Needless to say her confrontation sets them each on an entirely different path!

Wallbanger was such a fun, feel-good read.  I found myself cracking up, Alice Clayton has such a great sense of humor!  Simon and Caroline have some serious sexual chemistry and I loved watching them fight it as they strive to achieve and maintain a friendship.  Their interactions were sometimes reserved, yet at other times playful and bold.  Individually they were both extremely like-able and when together completely endearing.  If only they could get on the same page!!!

I adored Caroline's self confidence, what an example for us women to live by.  Take compliments when they are given, appreciate the positives of your body, don't settle for less, don't change who you are or compromise what you want for a man.  Talk about inspirational!  I also appreciated these two didn't rush their "relationship."  It was nice seeing something happen naturally.

Simon, just as cocky and confident as Caroline with a serious does of sexiness.  That's your first impression of him, but Alice Clayton has written his character to be so much more.  He's the total package because he is also charming, caring, considerate, with a huge heart and his own back story which only adds to his character's depth.

I also have to give props to Clive, Caroline's cat.  His addition to the story is so clever and his antics lend hand to some of the funniest parts of this story!

I definitely enjoyed Wallbanger, especially with it's fresh plot and great characters.  Give it a chance for sure!
