Review: Captive Films Season One (Episodes 1-6) by Jillian Dodd

Synopsis

Meet Riley Johnson. CEO of Captive Films.
Hot. Rich. Privileged. Seriously Single.
There could never be a reality show about my life.
It’d just be work and sex.
Lots and lots of sex.
No breakups.
No fights with friends.
Zero drama.
Drama’s for the movies.
Not for me.
I’m Riley Johnson.
I’ve got it all.
Brand new jet. Exotic cars. Luxury penthouse. Black card. A different aspiring actress (or two) every night.
I run Captive Films.
Where we leave you begging for more.
Or maybe that’s just me.
My life is perfect.
. . . Until she walks back into it.

Review
4.5 out of 5 stars

Anyone who has been around our blog for any amount of time knows we love Jillian Dodd.  It's no secret we were/are slightly obsessed with The Keatyn Chronicles.  We're the blog partners who would read a chapter and then call each other to discuss the details because we could't get the story out of our head.  As much as we loved the amazing, perfect finale to the series we were even more excited when we learned Jillian was creating a spin off series, Captive Films!

What's unique about the Captive Films series are that the books were written and released one week apart, for 6 weeks.  The books are written such as a television series so each week you get a new episode.  For those of us who don't have a lot of time to read, getting quick novella's type length stories to read once a week is perfect!  Pretty much every book in the series took me between 35-45 minutes to read and like a favorite television show and in typical Jillian Dodd fashion, these "episodes" will leave you hanging and wanting more!

Even though it's been 10 years I couldn't help but be surprised at just how much some of the characters, particularly Riley, had changed since their time in KC.  You see a glimpse of the changes at the end of Get Me, but I'll be honest there are times I would have like to beat Riley in Season One. He is a very jaded, cynical character since he and Ariela split.  While it's sad to see him like this, I can't wait to see how Jillian spins it all around!  It's what she does best.

One of the best things about this series, for me is the fact we get to hear so many different POV's.  So many interesting things have happened over the last 10 years and it was a lot of fun to hear the sordid details from each person's perspective.

In conclusion, this series is excellent.  Written in perfect Jillian Dodd fashion it's a fun, sexy, crazy series.  Jillian has a true knack for making you want to scream at her characters one minute only to melt into a puddle the next and she always leaving you begging for more.  We are highly recommending you one-click these episodes today.  Even if you've never read the Keatyn Chronicles, Captive Films is written with new readers in mind. So if you are unfamiliar with the KC series, you're still able to pick these books up and enjoy the story immensely.
